Confocal Leica TCS SP5 on a DMI6000 Inverted Microscope

The confocal is a Leica TCS SP5 with the dual (Tandem) Scanner.

The Tandem Scanner combines two options in one system: a conventional, slow (1000 lines/sec) but accurate scanning system - ideal for morphological imaging and three dimensional structure analyses, and a resonant scanning system (8000 lines/sec) - ideal for high speed confocal imaging.

  • Laser lines at 405, 458, 476, 488, 496, 514, 561, 594 and 633nm.
  • FRET and FRAP capability.
  • Environment control enclosure (for temperature and CO2 control)
  • Fully automated stage in all 3 dimensions xyz for tilling experiments
  • Long term, multi-colour, multi-location time-lapse experiment capability.

Confocal Leica TCS SP5 II on a DM 6000 CFS Upright Microscope

The fixed stage microscope DM 6000 facilitates the imaging of tissue slices, whole organs and small embryos. It will soon be upgraded with a 405nm Laser for DAPI imaging.

  • Laser lines at 458, 476, 488, 496, 514, 561, and 633nm.
  • FRET and FRAP wizards
  • Fast z-stage for real time XZ or YZ sectioning
  • Fully automated stage in all 3 dimensions xyz
  • Long term, multi-colour, multi-location time-lapse experiment capability.
