Επιστημονικά Επιτεύγματα :Senescence and Senotherapeutics: a New Field in Cancer Therapy

The current manuscript by Vassilis G. Gorgoulis and collaborators, published in Pharmacology & Therapeutics, presents an overview on senescence and senotherapeutics. Among others the authors describe for the first time the presence of senescent cells in a human malignant entity, namely the classical Hodgkin lymphoma. They demonstrate that increased number of senescent cells in primary Hodgkin lesions is associated with unresponsiveness to classical therapy and poor survival. Senescent cells were detected in vivo with a new revolutionary compound named SenTraGor, patented by Prof Gorgoulis.
