We are a team of highly motivated and intrinsically curious scientists seeking to answer fundamental questions of immune regulation in cancer immunology and autoimmunity.

Fundamental discoveries made over the last decade have unequivocally shown that the immune system plays a vital role in tumor development with tumors exploiting sophisticated immune tolerance networks to avoid immune recognition and destruction.
Autoimmune diseases comprise a heterogeneous group of inflammatory responses against self tissues or cells, that develop upon failure of immune regulatory cells (such as Regulatory T cells and Dendritic Cells) to restrain autoimmune inflammation.

Research in our lab is focused on illuminating the mechanisms of function of Regulatory T cells and Dendritic Cells in autoimmune diseases and cancer. Utilizing mouse and human samples as model organisms our goal is to translate our findings in targeted therapies and biomarker discovery to facilitate the management of autoimmunity and cancer.
