Cell and Gene Therapy lab is managing two projects on the development of enabling technologies applicable to biomedicine: a) translational research of the fetal stem cells and b) vector development for gene therapy of Thalassemia.

The first horizontal action operates within the framework of systematic characterization of the specific features of fetal MSCs at the cellular, molecular, proteomic and pre-clinical level. The second horizontal action aims to further improve the technology of gene therapy for thalassemia, as well as to prepare the ground and the infrastructures for future clinical trials in the gene therapy field.
