Σύντομο Βιογραφικό

O Αναστάσιος Γαϊτάνης είναι κάτοχος πτυχίου Μηχανικού Βιοϊατρικής Τεχνολογίας απο το ΤΕΙ Αθήνας. Επίσης είναι κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου σπουδών (MSc) στην Ιατρική Φυσική απο το University of Surrey της Μ. Βρετανίας και κάτοχος διδακτορικού τίτλου σπουδών (PhD) στην Ιατρική Φυσική απο το Πανεπιστήμιο της Πάτρας. Ο τίτλος της διδακτορικής του διατριβής είναι “Development of stopping rules for the MLEM and OSEM algorithms used in PET image reconstruction”.  Ως ερευνητής έχει εργαστεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή ερευνητικά προγράμματα, ενώ έχει διδάξει μαθήματα σε προπτυχιακό και μεταπτυχιακό επίπεδο. Στο παρελθόν κατείχε τη θέση του προϊσταμένου του τμήματος Βιοϊατρικής Τεχνολογίας του ΙΙΒΕΑΑ. Απο το Μάϊο του 2014 κατέχει τη θέση του Ειδικού Λειτουργικού Επιστήμονα Β’ βαθμίδας στο εργαστήριο προκλινικής απεικόνισης PET/CT του ΙΙΒΕΑΑ.

O Δρ. Αναστάσιος Γαϊτάνης εργάζεται στο πεδίο της ιατρικής τομογραφικής απεικόνισης απο το 2003. Αρχικά ασχολήθηκε με τομογραφική απεικόνιση σε συστήματα υπολογιστικής τομογραφίας (CT) μαστού, ενώ με την τομογραφική απεικόνιση PET ασχολείται απο το 2005. Η διδακτορική του διατριβή επικεντρώθηκε στην ανάπτυξη κριτηρίων παύσης των επαναληπτικών αλγορίθμων που χρησιμοποιούνται στην ανακατασκευή εικόνας σε τομογράφους PET. Στην παρούσα φάση εκτός απο την ανακατασκευή εικόνας σε PET, ασχολείται με συστήματα υπολογιστικής ευφυίας σε εικόνες PET, καθώς και με θέματα ποσοτικοποίησης στην απεικόνιση PET.
