Dr. Manolis Mavroidis research focus on the elucidation of the molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for development and progression of cardiomyopathy and heart failure. For his studies Dr Mavroidis is using animal models of cardiomyopathy and heart failure, with ultimate goal to identify new targets for heart failure treatment.
More specifically his studies focused on:

• the role of innate immunity in the development of heart failure
• the role of cytoskeleton in the structure of intercalated discs and their plausible link to the development of dilated and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy.
