Call for interest: graduate student position at Basic Neurosciences Division, Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens

A position for a highly motivated graduate student is available in the lab of Dr. Leonidas Stefanis at BRFAA in the context of the GSRT-funded ARISTEIA project entitled: “The role of Chaperone-Mediated Autophagy in the nervous system in health and disease”. The project aims at the elucidation of the role of the degradation process of Chaperone-Mediated Autophagy in neuronal cells and in the nervous system, with particular focus on mechanisms of neuronal development and neurodegeneration. The post is available for 32 months.  Candidates should have a BSc and MSc (two-year duration) in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences or related fields), and demonstrable expertise in cellular and molecular neurobiology. Expertise in virus production and infection of neuronal cells will be an added plus.
