BRFAA is interested in employing a doctoral student to work in the research programme entitled “Inhibition and mechanistic studies of the Arp23 complex activation». The position is funded by a “POSTDOCS” GSRT grant. The doctoral student will work on synthesizing small molecule inhibitors of the Actin related protein 2/3 (Arp2/3).

Required qualifications:

• BSc and MSc in Chemistry or in Pharmacy.
• Proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry
• Good knowledge of the structure and function of the Arp2/3 complex
• Good knowledge of synthetic routes leading to 1H-Indole-2-methyl-3-aminoethyl amide derivatives
• Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of the English language.

The position is for 2,5 months and will commence on September 1st, 2013.
