Brief Bio

Kostas Eleftheratos was born in Athens, Greece. He graduated in Environmental Studies from the University of the Aegean (2000), and obtained MSc in Environmental Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2002), and PhD in Climatology from the University of Athens (2007). He has worked as a post-Doctoral researcher at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (2008-2011). He has collaborated or collaborates scientifically with the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001-2002), the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment of the University of Athens (2002-2011), the Laboratory of Atmospheric Environment of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (since 2003), the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the German Aerospace Centre (2004), the National Observatory of Athens (2008), the Department of Geosciences of the University of Oslo (2008) and the Research Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Climatology of the Academy of Athens (since 2010). Since 2012 he serves as Lecturer of Atmospheric Physics at the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens. His published work comprises of about 70 research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals, book chapters, international scientific proceedings and conference abstracts. He has participated in 20 international and national competitive research projects, funded by International and National Organizations.
