BRFAA has established policies which ensure high ethical standards in the collection, storage, and use of personal data. In compliance with implementation of the General Regulation of Personal Data Protection and the provisions of national legislation (Law 4624/2019), BRFAA has employed the well qualified company Nestor S.A. as its Data Protection Officer (DPO).  This policy applies to all processing (collection, storage, use, disclosure, and deletion) of personal data, that is any information relating to an identifiable living individual who can then be identified from these data.

The principles that BRFAA has framed are the fair, lawful processing of the personal data of its numerous employees and trainees, their limited, purpose-specific use without disclosure or selling or in any other manner unlawful use, updating when necessary, and safe keep and storage.

Thus, in securing proper handling of personal data in a respectful, careful, and considerate manner, BRFAA is aided by its DPO, to carried on the following major tasks:

• inform anyone who processes personal data about their individual responsibilities under data privacy legislation and include data privacy requirements into administrative procedures
• provide suitable training to all through special courses on data privacy and information security
• ensure that personal data are used for the purposes for which they were collected and are kept in a safe and appropriate manner
• respond to requests for advice from departments, sectors or individuals
• respond and investigate promptly any possible breach of data privacy legislation for further consideration
