On June 7th 2024, Dr. Catherine Stavropoulou-Giokas and her team at the Hellenic Cord Blood Bank (HCBB) at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens was awarded internationally-recognized accreditation by the Foundation for the Accredidation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

FACT accreditation helps establish global standards in cellular therapies.  FACT Standards drive advancement in cellular therapy and regenerative medicine. By adhering to these standards HBCC shows a dedication to managing all factors affecting product quality and therapeutic care. HCBB regularly updates its FACT addreditation through collaboration with leading experts in the field.  This year, Prof. Gesine Kögler & Dr. Diane Fournier were the FACT inspectors responsible for the bank’s updated accreditation.
