News :2nd Meeting on Systemic Autoimmune Diseases and Inflammation

On October 11–12, 2025, the 2nd Meeting titled “Systemic Autoimmune Diseases and Inflammation: Unmet Clinical Needs Guide Clinical-Translational and Basic Research” will take place at the Golden Age Hotel in downtown Athens.

This two-day scientific meeting will focus on recent advances in clinical, translational, and basic research related to autoimmune diseases and inflammation. Its aim is to highlight new findings and foster interaction between rheumatologists, clinical scientists, and basic researchers.

In recent years, the development of targeted treatments combined with the continuous search for clinically useful biomarkers has strengthened collaboration between physicians and scientists across different disciplines. The meeting will present important findings on pathogenetic mechanisms, classification, and treatment of chronic autoimmune diseases, with the ultimate goal of advancing diagnosis and therapy and improving patient outcomes.

Special sessions will also be dedicated to young investigators, PhD candidates, and medical students (undergraduate and postgraduate level), offering them the opportunity to present their work and engage directly with distinguished scientists from Greece and abroad, including through the “Work in Progress” session and other thematic discussions.

The Meeting is chaired by Athanasios G. Tzioufas, MD, PhD, Academician and Affiliated Investigator at the Center for Experimental Surgery & Translational Research of BRFAA, and Evangelos Andreakos, PhD, Director of the Center for Experimental Surgery & Translational Research of BRFAA.
