BRFAA’s team of TranSMed researchers hosted an open house on October 16th which was open to the general public, neighbors, students, and anybody who had an interest in biology and biomedical research.  This event was an opportunity for the local community to meet our scientists and learn first-hand about certain aspects of biomedical research that have to do with Metabolism (Obesity, Diabetes, Sleep, and Stress), functions of the brain, and model organisms that are used to help us better understand these areas of science (i.e. zebrafish, drosophila, c-elegans, mice).

Work stations included activities, exhibits, and a presentation of optical illusions, which were prepared by researchers.  BRFAA researchers and the local community joined together for an afternoon of education and discovery!
