Ερευνώ-Δημιουργώ-Καινοτομώ Β’ Κύκλος: «Ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων καλλυντικών προϊόντων αξιοποιώντας την Ελληνική χλωρίδα (CosmAGE)» (κωδικός Τ2ΕΔΚ-02583).
 

Το έργο υλοποιείται στο πλαίσιο της Δράσης ΕΡΕΥΝΩ – ΔΗΜΙΟΥΡΓΩ – ΚΑΙΝΟΤΟΜΩ, συγχρηματοδοτήθηκε από το Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Περιφερειακής Ανάπτυξης (ΕΤΠΑ) της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και εθνικούς πόρους μέσω του Ε.Π. Ανταγωνιστικότητα, Επιχειρηματικότητα & Καινοτομία (ΕΠΑνΕΚ) (κωδικός έργου: Τ2ΕΔΚ-02583).

Το συνεργατικό σχήμα του έργου συντονίζεται από το ΕΚΕΦΕ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΙΤΟΣ (Ινστιτούτο Βιοεπιστημών και Εφαρμογών) και περιλαμβάνει το ΕΘΝΙΚΟ ΚΑΙ ΚΑΠΟΔΙΣΤΡΙΑΚΟ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ (Τομείς Φαρμακογνωσίας & Χημείας Φυσικών Προϊόντων και Βιολογίας Κυττάρου – Βιοφυσικής), το ΙΙΒΕΑΑ (Κέντρο Κλινικής, Πειραματικής, Χειρουργικής και Μεταφραστικής Έρευνας) και τις εταιρείες ΚΟΡΡΕΣ και PharmaGnose.

Title:  Development of Innovative Cosmeceuticals Based on the Greek Flora

PROPOSAL ABSTRACT

CosmAGE's main goal is to produce high quality cosmetics, based on the extensive unique biodiversity of the Greek flora, with targeted anti-aging activity. The project will combine the production of raw materials (extracts/isolated compounds) through "green" technologies with biological research focused on anti-aging. This innovative approach, combined with the significant experience of partner companies in the extraction and analysis of natural products and the production of innovative cosmetics, will enable them to increase their competitiveness internationally. New scientific knowledge will also emerge as regards extraction techniques as well as mechanisms of human cell aging. Approximately 100 extracts will be produced with environmentally friendly technologies based on preexisting findings from National and European projects and the internationally accepted "List of Chinese Plants". The phytochemical analyses of plants will be carried out using modern techniques and methodologies, aiming to the isolation of pure compounds.

Extracts/compounds after being tested for potential cytotoxicity, will be classified for their antioxidant and cytoprotective, anti-wrinkle / anti-aging and bleaching activity in cellular and other model systems.

CosmAGE is an interdisciplinary collaborative approach between the academic community (phytochemistry, aging biology), a rapidly growing spin-off company and a country's leading industrial partner in the field of cosmetics. The result will be the production of innovative high added value cosmetics with significant economic and social impact.
