Sequencing-based techniques: SAGE (Serial Gene Expression Analysis), EST (Expressed Sequence Tags) and MPSS (Massive Parallel Signature Sequencing)

Hybridization-based techniques (microarrays): cDNA arrays, short-oligo arrays (Affymetrix), long-oligo arrays (Agilent) and exon arrays (Affymetrix).
